A Series of Speculations....

Over the past two days, my family has been listening to what the rumor mill has been spitting out about Mr. Glenn Beck's departure from his show on FoxNews. Today my dad signed up for Mr. Beck's Insider Extreme. We sat down and watched the anniverary special for the site, and it really got my gears a-grinding.

Why is Mr. Beck leaving his television show? What will he be doing?

At the beginning of the program, Mr. Beck spoke about his projects, both current and future. He was told, "No one has done this before!" to which he replied, "One man has."

A new question arises!! Who is the one man of whom Mr. Beck speaks?

My mother places her bet for William Randolf Hearst or Howard Hughes. My dad counters with a surprising candidate: Walt Disney.

Now there's a twist in the tale. So I did a little research on Disney.

According to an article by Richard Siklos for CNN, the Walt Disney Company is the largest media and entertainment conglomerate in the world, in terms of revenue. Once you do some serious digging, the number of pies Disney has fingers in is immense. Wikipedia has a nice list - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_assets_owned_by_Disney

So what kind of similarities are there between Uncle Walt and the Czar of Truth? Well, Mr. Beck is well on his way to establishing several media outlets- his news website (theblaze.com), his own website (glennbeck.com), many books, several documentories, his cable tv show (Glenn Beck), and his radio show (The Glenn Beck Program).

Of course, it's all just speculation. It will be up to Mr. Beck to tell us what his plans for the future are.
