Last time I checked, chickens were raised to be killed and eaten, not to run around freely. They don't exist in the wild. Have you ever seen a wild chicken?! Hello Dumbass, its a CHICKEN!!!! Sins of the Speakers
Today I watched the unveiling of President Ronald Reagan's statue in Washington D.C. This is the second event surrounding President Reagan that I have watched take place in that room. The first was his service. As Nancy Reagan (truly the gem of our country) stated today, this event was under happier circumstances.
Unfortunately, I witnessed several things that should be considered a sin. Most of the speakers did not focus on President Reagan or even Mrs. Reagan in their speeches. They spoke of what they did to help the President, or how much other people helped the President. At least, they eventually remembered that President Reagan was actually the main man of the day.
Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi was kind enough to arrange whole affair and handle all the details. She was, quite unsuitably, the worst of the speakers. She recognized several people in the crowd, on an almost casual basis, while she was at the podium. It was utterly unprofessional and absolutely rude. Pelosi later told a joke about a time in President Reagan's governorship that wasn't even humorous. If looks could cause pain, Pelosi would have been writhing on the ground, courtesy of Mrs. Reagan (and me through the computer screen). Mrs. Reagan is the epitome of class. As if it wasn't enough to besmirch the whole occasion, when the cloth was being pulled from President Reagan's statue, Pelosi (who was left standing behind everyone else) reached around people almost frantically to get a handful of the cloth so she could appear important.
On a side note, where was Obama? He went to great lengths to compare himself to President Reagan during the campaign trail, but didn't have enough courtesy to attend the unveiling of the statue. Apparently, he doesn't need the image anymore. Another snubbing of Mrs. Reagan. I'm sure he's getting something useful done in the Middle East.
