The American Education

Every day that I go to school, I find myself more and more exposed to the Communist indoctrination of the 1960's. Recently, my Advanced Placement Literature and Composition class read a book call Things Fall Apart. It is a story of a man in a Nigerian tribe named Okonkwo; in the end, the White Man comes to his land, ruins his life, and causes him to hang himself. The discussion afterwards was based around the general thought that we should feel compassion for this man and his tribe.
Frankly, it makes me sick. Why do we not read about our own culture? Books like My Brother Sam Is Dead, The Great Gatsby, The Grapes of Wrath, Of Mice And Men, To Kill A Mockingbird, Gone With The Wind, One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, All The King's Men, In Cold Blood, The Maltese Falcon- these books show important points in American culture and history. We cannot replace our individualism with globalism.
